Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Nova Bridge Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for event logistics, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to event logistics, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with event logistics. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
