Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Rivermark Pike Construction Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for safety records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with safety records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Madison. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
