Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Iron Staffing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. • Track costs around onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with timekeeping. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
