Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Foxglove Sparrow Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for equipment calibration, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Colorado Springs. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
