Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Cedar Ivory Banking Services Partners provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Baltimore, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with fraud alerts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
