Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Westbrook Facilities is a facilities company in Columbus with crews on day and night shifts. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Columbus. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
