Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Nova Sable Press produces print and digital publications in El Paso, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to press runs, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with press runs. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
