Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Clearpath Beacon Press produces print and digital publications in El Paso. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 90 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to bindery work, and clear open items. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with bindery work. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
