Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Nova West Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around Denver, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 359 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around weigh tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with recycling loads. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Denver. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
