Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Greenridge Vista Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for classroom supplies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with classroom supplies. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
