Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Westbrook Cedar Banking Services is a regional lender in Miami with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 810 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around card disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with loan files. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
