Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Clearpath Meadow Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Milwaukee. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 91 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Milwaukee. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
