Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Foxglove Wren Energy Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for outage response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with outage response. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
