Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Silverline Willow Construction Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 837 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with project schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
