Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Greenridge Sparrow Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Denver. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 685 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Denver. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
