Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Redstone Sable Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 150 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan applications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
