Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Ironwood Summit Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Dallas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with classroom supplies. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Dallas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
