Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Ventures and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 961 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to event logistics, and clear open items. • Track costs around school partnerships against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with event logistics. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
