Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Harborlight Juniper Banking Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for deposit accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 148 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with deposit accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Spokane. • We reply to every applicant.
