Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Lumen Timber Property Management looks after rental homes across the Albuquerque area, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to lease renewals, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
