Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Harborlight Glen Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with safety inspections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Spokane. • We reply to every applicant.
