Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Foxglove Nest Financial Partners is a financial-services company in Kansas City, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 840 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loan applications. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
