Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Cedar Rook Auto Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for vehicle inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 130 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vehicle inspections.
