Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Northwind Timber Manufacturing is a Boise manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 637 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lines, and clear open items. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production lines. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Boise. • We reply to every applicant.
