Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Westbrook Cobalt Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Fort Worth. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
