Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Ironwood Amber Medical Group is a Madison company producing monitoring and surgical equipment, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lots, and clear open items. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Madison. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
