Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Silverline Bridge Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Pittsburgh. • We reply to every applicant.
