Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Summit Vista Auto Group is a Columbus company supplying vehicle parts and service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with warranty claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
