Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Stonegate Hollow Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Boston area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
