Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Fernwood Juniper Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for safety inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 775 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with safety inspections. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Memphis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
