Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Clearpath Community Partners is a El Paso charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to benefits enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with benefits enrolment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
