Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Stonegate Iron Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around student accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with attendance records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Boston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
