Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Westbrook Studio is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for accessibility audits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with accessibility audits. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
