Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Rivermark Loom Learning Group Partners is an education provider in Albuquerque serving students and families, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 193 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Albuquerque. • We reply to every applicant.
