Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Clearpath Cross Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with cold storage.
