Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Bluepeak Maple Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Jacksonville region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Site safety is non-negotiable. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
