Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Lumen Yarrow Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Phoenix serving households and small businesses. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with fraud alerts. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Phoenix. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
