Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Highbridge Meadow Housing Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for maintenance stores, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We value patience and follow-through. What you will do • Track costs around lease compliance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance stores, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with maintenance stores. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Toledo. • We reply to every applicant.
