Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Silverline Fox Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Fresno, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 179 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with vehicle inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
