Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Northwind Corner Pharma is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for regulatory filings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Quality is everyone's job here, not a department. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around cleanroom operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Kansas City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
