Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Redstone Ember Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for meter reading, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 956 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Boston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
