Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Highbridge Keystone Environmental Services Group is an environmental-services company in Richmond with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 851 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
