Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Ironwood Ember Manufacturing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for production lines, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around tooling against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
