Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Bright Junction Press and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 125 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
