Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Summit Union Legal Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for court deadlines, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 175 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to court deadlines, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around client files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Fort Worth. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
