Accountant - month-end close (Raleigh, NC)

Redstone Umber Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Raleigh, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 624 people based in Raleigh. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer sites. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Raleigh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
