Accountant - month-end close (Raleigh, NC)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Orchard Care Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 302 people based in Raleigh. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with licensing. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
