Accountant - month-end close (Raleigh, NC)

Rivermark Clear Farms Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for packing house output, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Raleigh. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with packing house output. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Raleigh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
