Accountant - month-end close (Providence, RI)

Westbrook Field Property Management is a Providence property manager with leasing, maintenance and resident services. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 151 people based in Providence. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance requests, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around resident events against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with maintenance requests. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
