Accountant - month-end close (Providence, RI)

Bright Rook Manufacturing Partners makes precision components in Providence, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tooling, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with tooling. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
